Vietnam Party Official Trịnh Văn Quyết Urges State Agencies to Provide Information for Faster Media

On July 30, Trịnh Văn Quyết, a member of the Politburo and head of the Party's Propaganda and Publicity Department, led a meeting with press organisations to discuss the need for more rapid and accurate dissemination of policy information. He warned that artificial intelligence can generate news articles in seconds without editorial oversight, while traditional journalism still requires multiple layers of review, risking slower delivery.

Quyết called on ministries and other state bodies to proactively supply detailed information to journalists, enabling the press to act as an effective bridge between the Party and the public. The meeting also addressed plans to create shared media infrastructure, improve the database for policy communication, and revise Decree 60 on financial autonomy for newspapers. The government pledged to enhance the provision of official data through regular briefings and coordinated press releases.
