Vietnam pepper exports reach 1.32 billion USD
Vietnam’s pepper exports reached 1.32 billion USD between January and September 15, 2026, marking a 10.3% increase in value and a 15.2% increase in volume compared to the previous year. The United States remains the largest market, accounting for 23.5% of total exports, followed by China and the United Arab Emirates.
Despite the growth in export revenue, domestic pepper prices have not fully recovered to last year’s levels. This stagnation is attributed to increased imports and market uncertainties stemming from Middle East conflicts and US tariff policies. Additionally, global production forecasts for 2026 suggest potential shortages as yields in Vietnam, Indonesia, and India have declined due to adverse weather conditions.
