Vietnam pharmaceutical sector advances through digital transformation and retail growth
Vietnam's pharmaceutical sector is undergoing significant digital transformation and retail expansion. The Drug Administration of Vietnam reports that 100% of public services are now provided online, with 37 services offering full end-to-end online processing. This shift toward data-driven management aims to increase transparency and efficiency in tracking medicine throughout its lifecycle, from registration to post-market surveillance.
In the retail market, Long Chau has established one of the largest pharmacy networks in the country. As of June 2026, the chain operated 2,639 pharmacies and 236 vaccination centers. Analysts from VNDIRECT note that Long Chau's reach covers approximately one-third of Vietnam's population. Despite this rapid growth, the retail market remains highly fragmented; Long Chau's network represents less than 10% of the total number of pharmacies in Vietnam. VNDIRECT forecasts that Long Chau's pharmaceutical retail segment could reach 41,533 billion VND in revenue by 2026.
