Vietnam Pickleball Federation formed as sport gains national momentum

On 28 July 2026, the inaugural congress of the Vietnam Pickleball Federation was held in Hanoi, establishing the national governing body for the sport for the 2026‑2031 term. The congress elected Lê Văn Thành, chairman of the board of a major energy group, as the federation’s president, and appointed seven vice‑chairs, including senior officials from media, government and sports clubs. The new federation will coordinate clubs, standardise competitions and promote international integration of Vietnamese pickleball.

Earlier in July, the Ho Chi Minh City Press and Business Pickleball Tournament took place at the Swin complex in District 12. The event featured top national players such as Phạm Văn Mách, former footballer Nguyễn Anh Đức, and journalist‑players, with mixed‑doubles contests across senior, junior and gender categories. The tournament highlighted the sport’s rapid rise in popularity and its appeal among athletes, media professionals and business leaders across Vietnam.
