Vietnam agro-forestry-fishery exports rise 7.8% in nine months
Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery export sector recorded a total value of 56.3 billion USD during the first nine months of 2026, representing a 7.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth resulted in a trade surplus of 16.9 billion USD, up 7.4%.
Specific sector performance includes agricultural exports at 29.28 billion USD (up 3.1%), seafood at 9.17 billion USD (up 12.3%), and forestry products at 14.41 billion USD (up 7.6%). Livestock product exports saw a significant surge of 24.6%, reaching 564.4 million USD. Fruit and vegetable exports were a notable highlight, growing nearly 20% to reach approximately 7.35 billion USD.
Asia remains the largest export market, accounting for 49.4% of the total market share, followed by the Americas (22.2%) and Europe (13.5%). China is the primary individual market, particularly for fruit and vegetables, where it holds a 63% share. Other major markets include the United States and South Korea.
In separate commodity news, domestic silver prices in Vietnam have shown volatility, with recent updates indicating shifts in both local and global markets influenced by US economic data and Federal Reserve expectations. Additionally, domestic pork prices have experienced a downward trend, with market rates in several regions dropping to between 55,000 and 57,000 VND/kg.
