Vietnam pledges aid to earthquake‑hit Venezuela
Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said General Secretary and President To Lam sent a message of sympathy to Acting President Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gomez following a devastating earthquake in Venezuela. The ministry announced that, based on the traditional friendship between the two countries, Vietnam is ready to provide appropriate support to Venezuela.
The Vietnamese embassy in Venezuela confirmed that Vietnamese citizens living, studying or working there are safe, and it is coordinating with local authorities. Emergency hotlines were provided for any Vietnamese nationals needing assistance. During the same briefing, officials briefed on a recent fire at Moscow's Sadovod trade centre that affected several Vietnamese‑owned businesses, noting that the embassy had assisted traders to resume operations.
No further details on the type or amount of aid were given.
