Vietnam police bust counterfeit shoe factory, seize 23,000 fake Nike, Adidas, Gucci pairs

Police in Ho Chi Minh City arrested a husband‑wife team, Đặng Phước Đạt (born 1996) and Vũ Thị Thu Thủy (born 1999), and three accomplices for operating a large‑scale counterfeit shoe workshop in Phú Hòa Đông. The scheme, active since June 2025, employed about 14 workers to mold, label and package imitation footwear bearing the Nike, Adidas, Crocs and Gucci trademarks.

During raids at the end of May 2026, authorities seized more than 23,000 pairs of fake shoes and related accessories, valued at over 2 billion Vietnamese đồng. The suspects were charged with “infringement of industrial property rights” and placed in temporary detention.
