Vietnam police crack down on online gambling rings in Hưng Yên and Tây Ninh

The Hưng Yên Provincial Police announced the prosecution of five individuals for illegal online gambling on the GO88 and Hit‑Club platforms. The suspects used smartphones to link bank accounts and wager amounts ranging from 5 million to 290 million VND, with one participant having bet about 20 million VND.

In Tây Ninh, a separate operation detained seven suspects accused of running an online cockfighting betting network. Investigators seized laptops, televisions and related equipment, and reported that the scheme generated roughly 80 trillion VND in bets during May 2026. Both cases illustrate a broader crackdown on illicit internet‑based gambling activities across the country.
