Vietnam police dismantle large-scale online gambling ring

The Ministry of Public Security has dismantled a large-scale online gambling ring involving football betting and lottery activities. Police conducted simultaneous raids on 11 locations across Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and An Giang province.

Authorities have prosecuted ringleaders Ly Hoang Oanh and Vu Quang Minh, along with 24 other individuals. The investigation revealed a sophisticated, multi-layered organizational structure where members were assigned specific roles, including leaders, agents, and those responsible for calculating winnings and losses.

During the operation, law enforcement seized various items, including mobile phones, computers, iPads, cash, documents, and electronic data. Officials noted that the group utilized information technology to automate and conceal their criminal activities. The investigation is ongoing.
