Vietnam police fine six Nigerians for overstaying in Nha Trang

Police in Khanh Hoa Province, south‑central Vietnam discovered six Nigerian nationals who had remained in the country for more than a year after their visas expired. The men were found during surprise inspections of two accommodation establishments in Nha Trang and are now being investigated for violations of Vietnam's immigration regulations.

Authorities said the overstayers could face administrative fines of VND30‑40 million (US$1,140‑1,520) each, possible confiscation of items, and deportation depending on the severity of the offense. The owners of the two lodging facilities may also be subject to penalties. The Ministry of Public Security’s Immigration Department urged foreign guests and accommodation providers to report any overstays promptly and to keep residence documents up to date.
