Vietnam authorities act on car vandalism, rental fraud, assault and scam cases

In Hanoi, a court has taken up the case of a Mercedes‑Benz GLC200 that was deliberately scratched and damaged after being parked in front of a house. The mother, Mai Thị Bích Vân, was charged with intentional property damage, while her daughter Lê Thu Hương received a fine for public insults. The investigation clarified the extent of the scratches and set compensation at about 6.8 million VND.

In Ho Chi Minh City, a woman reported sexual misconduct at a private physiotherapy clinic. She said the male practitioner forced her to undress, performed invasive massages, and made unwanted sexual advances, charging her roughly 600 000 VND for the session. Police have opened an inquiry into the alleged assault.

Police in Lam Đồng province have charged a 25‑year‑old woman, Lê Kim Thảo, with abuse of trust and embezzlement after she rented a car, pawned it for 46 million VND, and fled to Bắc Ninh. The seized vehicle was valued at 390 million VND and authorities have imposed a travel restriction.

In Bắc Ninh, officers captured 20‑year‑old Lương Văn Dũng after a robbery in which he assaulted a driver and stole a Hyundai Accent to repay personal debts of about 200 million VND. More than 30 officers participated in the apprehension.

Tuyên Quang police warned a resident who avoided a fraud attempt involving a fake government traffic‑fine website. The scam sought a payment of 50 000 VND via a counterfeit portal mimicking the national service gateway. The victim reported the incident, preventing loss of funds and personal data.
