Vietnam police penalize traffic violators caught on social media
Traffic police in Vietnam have taken action against individuals whose traffic violations were captured and shared on social media.
In Quang Ninh province, authorities identified a 17-year-old male who performed wheelies on a motorcycle in the Hai Ha Industrial Zone area to create content for social media. The individual admitted to the act to impress friends. Police cited several violations, including riding on one wheel, failing to wear a helmet, operating a vehicle without a rearview mirror, and being underage. The motorcycle was confiscated, and the individual who provided the vehicle to the minor was fined 9 million VND.
In Lao Cai province, police investigated a video showing a couple riding a motorcycle without helmets. The driver and passenger were identified in the Bac Ha commune area. The driver was cited for not wearing a helmet, carrying a passenger without a helmet, and lacking valid civil liability insurance. The total fine for both individuals amounted to 1.75 million VND.
