Vietnam police probe Daobit‑Nexus cryptocurrency fraud scheme
The Ho Chi Minh City Criminal Police Department (PC02) is investigating a large-scale fraud case involving the Daobit‑Nexus cryptocurrency platform. The scheme was operated by Ngô Thị Ngọc Lan (also known as Bảo Viên, born 1984, resident of Phú Thọ) and accomplices, who created a marketing consultancy firm to promote the Nexus‑Daobit token and used a multilevel‑marketing model to solicit investments. Victims were convinced to invest, resulting in the misappropriation of billions of đồng nationwide.
Police have announced that anyone who transferred money to the Daobit‑Nexus system should gather bank statements and related documents and submit them to the PC02 office or by mail by 20 July, to support the criminal complaint. The investigation remains ongoing.
