Vietnam police seize thousands of counterfeit shoes and arrest major online seller
Police in Dong Nai province inspected multiple shoe and fashion stores, confiscating 99 pairs of fake Crocs, Nike and Adidas footwear and seizing a larger batch of counterfeit products including Dior and Chanel items. The authorities imposed a VND 26 million fine and ordered the destruction of the infringing goods. In a related operation in Ninh Binh province, investigators arrested 35‑year‑old Phạm Minh Tuấn for selling 3,578 pairs of counterfeit sports shoes worth about VND 1.28 billion. The case, handled by the provincial Economic Crime Police, highlighted the use of online platforms and social‑media livestreams to market fake branded merchandise. Both incidents underscore Vietnam’s intensified enforcement against violations of industrial property rights and the distribution of unsafe or misleading products.
