Vietnam police warn of Zalo delivery‑staff scams as courts convict Ca Mau fraudster

The police in Ca Mau province issued a public warning about a fraud scheme in which perpetrators pose as delivery staff, call victims claiming issues with orders, and ask them to add the callers on Zalo. Once connected, the scammers impersonate law‑enforcement officials, present fabricated documents, and pressure victims to reveal bank details, OTP codes or transfer money.

Separately, a 26‑year‑old man from Ca Mau, Trương Thanh Nhã, was sentenced by a Tây Ninh court to 13 years in prison for a multi‑step rental‑deposit scam. Using fake Facebook and Zalo accounts, he lured 55 people seeking rooms in Ho Chi Minh City, secured deposits for non‑existent accommodations, and stole more than 670 million VND, which he spent on personal consumption and gambling.
