Vietnam Politburo issues new decision on Central Propaganda Department

The Politburo of Vietnam has issued Decision No. 658-QD/TW regarding the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Propaganda Department. Signed by Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, the decision defines the department as a strategic advisory body for the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.

The department is tasked with advising on political, ideological, and ethical Party building, as well as major policies in propaganda fields. Key responsibilities include researching ideological strategies, guiding public perception, and fostering social consensus. It also plays a role in preparing documents for National Party Congresses and promoting Ho Chi Minh Thought.

In terms of organization, the department will be led by a head and several deputy heads. Its structure includes various specialized departments, such as Political Theory, Propaganda, Press and Publishing, Culture and Arts, Information and Foreign Affairs, Science and Education, and Social Opinion Research, among others.
