Vietnam Politburo issues resolution to protect innovative officials
The Politburo of Vietnam has issued Resolution No. 24, signed by General Secretary and State President To Lam, aimed at promoting the pioneering spirit and responsibility of cadres and party members in a new era. The resolution emphasizes protecting officials who demonstrate innovation, courage to think and act, and willingness to take responsibility for the common good.
To ensure effective implementation, the Politburo requires that officials be provided with clear authority and a dedicated space for contribution, ensuring they are protected when acting with pure motives and in accordance with guidelines. The resolution also calls for the creation of breakthrough mechanisms and policies while simultaneously tightening discipline, transparency, and power control.
A key focus of the resolution is the distinction between genuine innovation and illegal acts. The Politburo has ordered strict measures to prevent and punish the use of innovation as a pretext to legalize violations, corruption, waste, or group interests. Furthermore, the resolution seeks to eliminate the tendency of officials to avoid responsibility, hesitate due to fear of mistakes, or engage in passive work that hinders development.
