Vietnam Politburo sets oversight directions for 16th National Assembly

The Politburo of Vietnam has issued Conclusion No. 96-KL/TW, outlining the strategic directions for the oversight activities of the 16th National Assembly term. Signed by Standing member Tran Cam Tu, the directive aims to enhance governance effectiveness, control power, and resolve institutional and legal bottlenecks.

The oversight framework focuses on several key areas, including the perfection of the legal system to ensure it aligns with Party guidelines and international treaties. It also emphasizes monitoring the organization and operation of the state apparatus, specifically regarding decentralization and the prevention of corruption, waste, and negativity.

Additional priorities include supervising the implementation of policies related to scientific and technological breakthroughs, digital transformation, national culture, and education. The directive also stresses the importance of monitoring policies that ensure sustainable social development, human rights, and social justice to meet the country's strategic goals for the new era.
