Vietnam pig prices decline across all three regions

Pig meat prices in Vietnam have continued to trend downward as of October 22, 2026, with market rates fluctuating between 47,000 and 52,000 VND/kg nationwide.

In Northern Vietnam, prices have dropped to a range of 49,000–50,000 VND/kg, with several provinces reaching the 50,000 VND/kg mark. Central and Highland regions have seen significant pressure, with Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Trị, Huế, and Gia Lai recording the lowest prices at 47,000 VND/kg. In the South, prices have stabilized somewhat after previous sharp declines, though Cần Thơ and Đồng Tháp saw local decreases to 47,000 and 48,000 VND/kg respectively. High points in the South remain in Đồng Nai, Tây Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City at 52,000 VND/kg.

The price decline is contributing to financial difficulties for small and medium-scale farmers, who face potential losses as market rates fall below production costs.
