Vietnam prepares for 2026 cultural and tourism events

Authorities in Vietnam are coordinating preparations for several major cultural and tourism initiatives scheduled for 2026.

In Quang Tri province, officials held a meeting to review progress for the first phase of the Quang Tri Culture and Tourism Week, set to take place from November 24 to 30, 2026. The event, themed ‘Radiant Land of Wonders,’ will feature an opening ceremony at Ho Chi Minh Square including an art performance and fireworks. Additional activities include a culinary space showcasing Hanoi-style dishes with local ingredients and various cultural promotion activities.

In Quang Ninh province, preparations are underway for the ‘Yen Tu - Autumn Meditation Colors 2026’ program. This series of events, running from late October to December, includes the first ‘Ky Vuong Yen Tu’ Chinese chess tournament featuring Vietnam-China exchanges, and the third annual Yen Tu Heritage Marathon. The marathon has already seen over 1,600 athlete registrations. Other planned activities include a cycling race and a competition for the best heritage guides to promote the historical and natural landscape of the Yen Tu heritage site.
