Vietnam prepares for APEC 2027 hosting duties
Vietnam is intensifying preparations for its role as the host of the 2027 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. A key infrastructure project, the APEC Convention and Exhibition Center, is currently being completed in Phu Quoc to serve the summit week.
During the 37th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Foreign Affairs and Economy, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed three priority directions for the forum: building an innovative and productive region through responsible AI and digital technology, fostering an open and interconnected region by facilitating trade and supply chains, and establishing a resilient and dynamic region through strategic cooperation.
Hosting the event provides Vietnamese businesses with direct access to a network of 21 member economies, which represent approximately 61% of global GDP and 46% of global trade. The summit is expected to offer opportunities for domestic enterprises to connect with multinational corporations and investors through the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and the APEC CEO Summit.
