Vietnam President Tô Lâm calls for intensified anti-corruption efforts
Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President, has called for intensified efforts to combat corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena within the country. During a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena, he emphasized the necessity of following a “talk less, do more” approach to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
Tô Lâm highlighted that while progress has been made in institution-building, power control, and digital transformation, violations must continue to be handled strictly under the law without exceptions. He urged for a comprehensive review of outstanding issues and requested stronger, data-based supervision to prevent violations “at the root, early and from afar.”
Additionally, the leader called for decisive action regarding long-delayed projects and the management of surplus public buildings and land. He stressed that shortcomings should be addressed promptly rather than being attributed solely to institutional mechanisms.
