Vietnam President and Party General Secretary To Lam urged a shift from reactive to proactive disaster risk management, emphasizing comprehensive prevention as extreme weather events increase. He also announced the development of a modern artillery‑missile force to meet new defence challenges.

The government approved a national action plan to combat money laundering and terrorism financing, aiming to remove Vietnam from the Financial Action Task Force’s “grey” list. A digital electronic logbook system for fisheries was introduced to curb illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City began implementing free public‑transport schemes to reduce private‑vehicle use and promote sustainable urban mobility. The deputy prime minister signed a decree establishing a digital economy programme for 2026‑2030, focusing on AI, big data and digital platforms.

Vietnam deployed 124 defence and public‑security personnel to Venezuela for earthquake‑relief assistance, and organised cultural events such as the Vietnam Coffee Festival in Singapore and commemorations of President Ho Chi Minh in France. A national plan to strengthen anti‑human‑trafficking measures was also launched.
