Vietnam President To Lam Calls for Youth Ambition and Green, Digital Growth

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam urged Vietnamese youth to think bigger, learn faster and increase their contribution to national development. He also called for stronger support for veterans and outlined six major tasks for building an ecological civilization, greener economy and sustainable oceans.

The government launched an action programme to transform Hanoi into a multi‑centred, multi‑layered city, including a groundbreaking ceremony for five urban railway lines and three social‑housing projects, the largest infrastructure package ever undertaken in the capital. The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign ran from April to August 2026, targeting broad youth participation. The National Press Festival took place in Hai Phong, celebrating Vietnamese journalism’s loyalty, creativity and responsibility. A new decree established lifelong learning records to be integrated into the VNeID digital identity system.

Statistical highlights showed Vietnam’s foreign direct investment rose 34.9 % in the first five months of 2026, while international visitor arrivals exceeded 10 million.
