Vietnam President To Lam chairs government meeting on economic review and policy direction

On July 4, the Vietnamese government held its regular June 2026 session together with an online conference for local authorities. President and Party General Secretary To Lam attended and delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the implementation of Party resolutions and the need for coordinated action across ministries and regions.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung opened the meeting, noting that the agenda covered the economic and social situation for June and the second quarter of 2026, progress on Resolution 01/NQ‑CP, allocation and disbursement of public investment, implementation of national target programs, and the state budget for the first half of the year. Participants also discussed external pressures, notably the Middle‑East conflict’s impact on global trade, supply chains, inflation and macro‑economic stability, as well as domestic challenges such as energy security, growth drivers and economic restructuring.

The leadership reported a generally positive trend in the economy during the reporting period and set out priority tasks for the coming months to sustain growth and meet the Party’s development goals.
