Vietnam President To Lam modernises Party ideology for digital age
Vietnam President and Communist Party General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting of the Party’s Propaganda, Education and Mass Mobilisation Commission to examine a draft Strategy for ideological work in the digital era. He stressed the need for a modern, proactive, persuasive and effective system that uses data, forecasting and early‑warning tools while preserving the Party’s political‑theoretical foundations. The strategy aims to make ideological work a core leadership capability, integrate it with governance, combine ideological construction and struggle, and place the people at the centre of defending Party fundamentals. To Lam warned that technology such as artificial intelligence cannot replace political firmness and revolutionary ethics, and called for a renewed approach that anticipates public opinion trends and delivers concrete results.
The initiative is presented as a long‑term strategic move to strengthen social consensus, support national development goals and keep the Party’s ideological base robust in the face of rapid digital transformation.
