Vietnam President To Lam sets agenda for ideological work and maritime development

On 15 June, Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam chaired a meeting at the Party Central Committee headquarters to review a draft proposal for a Party ideological work strategy in the era of digital transformation. He urged the draft to adopt a proactive, sharp, persuasive and effective approach, using technology and data without compromising political fundamentals.

In the same session, To Lam called for an accelerated drafting of a new resolution on sustainable maritime economic development, shifting from a purely economic focus to a national sea‑space strategy. He highlighted the need to define the shape of a strong maritime nation for the 21st century, with goals extending to 2030 and 2045, envisioning modern super‑ports, smart coastal cities, offshore wind hubs and a leading regional logistics centre.
