Vietnam holds high-level dialogues on youth innovation and international relations

In Hanoi, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung led a dialogue with youth representatives focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation amidst the rise of artificial intelligence and automation. Officials reported that the youth unemployment rate for those aged 15-24 reached 9.07% in the third quarter of 2026, with approximately 1.6 million young people not currently in employment, education, or training.

Addressing the impact of technology, Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son emphasized that while AI is a powerful tool, education must ensure students understand its limitations to prevent it from hindering critical thinking. He stressed the importance of maintaining core scientific knowledge and ethical responsibility in the AI era.

On the diplomatic front, high-level meetings took place to strengthen regional ties. General Secretary To Lam and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Lao officials, including Vilay Lakhamphong, to reinforce the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Laos. Additionally, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang met with Finnish Minister Ville Tavio to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and green economy technologies.
