Vietnam Prime Minister issues state secret list for National Assembly
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 1978/QD-TTg on October 13, 2026, establishing a list of state secrets for the National Assembly, its agencies, the National Assembly Office, and National Assembly delegations.
The decision categorizes information into Top Secret and Secret levels. Top Secret information includes plans for referendums affecting politics, defense, security, or foreign affairs; measures to handle complex situations during elections that impact national stability; and documentation regarding the arrest, detention, or prosecution of National Assembly members.
Additionally, Top Secret classifications cover foreign policy communications between the Vietnamese National Assembly and international partners that could affect national security or socio-economic development, as well as information regarding the dissolution of provincial or municipal People's Councils. Secret level classifications include certain preparatory documents for National Assembly elections, such as personnel structure and quantity decisions.
