Vietnam probes land mismanagement in Ben Tre eco‑tourism project as Tây Ninh unveils new green tourism plan

A provincial audit in Vĩnh Long province found that former officials of Ben Tre province illegally allocated about 242,000 m² of land for the Thanh Tan eco‑tourism and Ham Luông villa projects. The investigation blamed the former vice chairman of the Ben Tre People's Committee, former directors of the province’s Finance Department and other senior officials for approving land transfers and issuing red‑title certificates in violation of regulations.

Separately, Tây Ninh province announced a long‑term eco‑tourism development scheme that will link forest areas with historic revolutionary sites. The plan targets roughly 236 ha of land, including a 61.5‑ha forest‑planting zone, and aims to create integrated tourism, recreation and resort facilities by 2030, boosting the province’s contribution to gross regional domestic product and preserving cultural and natural heritage.
