Vietnam processes 336 intellectual property violations
Authorities in Vietnam have processed 336 intellectual property rights violations during the first nine months of 2026. This represents a 150% increase compared to the results from 2025. Total fines amounted to nearly 4.5 billion VND, with the value of infringing goods estimated at approximately 9 billion VND.
According to the Department of Science and Technology, 332 of these cases involved trademarks and geographical indications, while the remaining four cases concerned copyright and related rights. In addition to administrative penalties, authorities initiated criminal proceedings in seven cases related to intellectual property infringement.
Moving forward, officials plan to increase inspections in key areas, including urban centers, commercial hubs, and tourist destinations. There will also be a heightened focus on monitoring e-commerce platforms and digital environments to combat potential infringements.
