Vietnam promotes soft power through diplomatic anniversaries and treaty celebrations
Vietnam’s leadership highlighted a series of diplomatic and cultural initiatives aimed at boosting the country’s soft power. Senior officials marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties with the Philippines and Thailand, exchanged congratulatory messages, and emphasized university collaborations and cultural exchanges.
The Vietnam‑Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation was reaffirmed as a cornerstone of bilateral relations, with scholars noting its strategic significance. Vietnam also sought deeper ties with Greece, Russia and other partners, calling for higher‑level visits and coordination in multilateral forums.
Domestically, the government addressed flood and landslide damage in northern mountainous regions, praised student achievements at international science olympiads, and reiterated commitment to caring for families of martyrs, wounded soldiers and heroic mothers while modernising the police force.
