Vietnam proposes tax exemptions for school and hospital meal providers
The Vietnamese government has proposed tax exemptions for businesses and individuals providing meal services to schools and hospitals. This proposal was presented by Deputy Minister of Finance Le Tan Can during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on September 22.
The initiative aims to encourage higher quality and improved food safety standards in catering services for students, medical staff, and patients. Under the draft law, corporate income tax would be waived on income derived specifically from providing meals to educational and medical facilities. Additionally, the proposal includes personal income tax exemptions for resident individuals engaged in the same business activities to ensure equality between enterprises and individual business owners.
