Vietnam prosecutors charge Vương Đức Lanh and Lê Nguyễn Bửu Luân with fraud

The Quang Ninh provincial police's Economic Crime Department announced on June 8 that Vương Đức Lanh, chairman of Vietnam‑America Ha Long Co., was formally charged with fraud for using unapproved land‑division maps to solicit investment in the Hạ Long Star project, creating fictitious parcels and diverting funds from victims.

In Can Thơ, police have also indicted former sales director Lê Nguyễn Bửu Luân of Dong Tam JSC. Between March and May 2025, Luân misled customers with a false gold‑gift promotion, receiving more than 466 million VND from 16 buyers, and embezzled over 433 million VND from the company to settle personal debts. The investigation has been completed and the case forwarded to the prosecutor for trial.
