Vietnam provinces announce memorial designation and mineral auction

The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has officially designated the memorial monument at Border Post 649 as a provincial-level relic. Located in Ia Dom commune, the site covers over 14,172 square meters and honors the soldiers who died during the defense of the Southwest border. The monument, which underwent major restoration in 2017, serves to preserve the history of the unit, which was established in 1975.

In An Giang, the provincial government has approved a plan to auction mining rights for a sea-based land reclamation mineral site. The area, located near Rach Gia ward, spans approximately 99.7 hectares with an estimated reserve of 3 million cubic meters. The auction is expected to take place within 2026 to support local urban renovation and sea dike projects while generating state budget revenue.
