Vietnam provinces implement measures to combat domestic violence

Provinces in Vietnam are implementing various strategies to combat domestic violence through community-based models and increased reporting. In Gia Lai, the province has established 238 prevention models and 787 support groups. These initiatives include clubs focused on happy families, equality, and youth, providing members with skills in conflict resolution, child education, and economic development to mitigate violence risks.

In Ha Tinh, data from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported 37 cases of domestic violence in 2025. Mental violence was the most frequent type with 22 cases, followed by physical violence with 14 cases, and economic violence with one case. The majority of perpetrators were male (34 cases), while victims included 34 women and 3 men, including vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. Authorities emphasize that many incidents may go unreported due to social stigma, highlighting the need for early detection and community intervention.
