Vietnam provinces strengthen national defense and security measures

In Phu Tho province, authorities are prioritizing the dissemination of defense laws and the strengthening of the militia and self-defense forces. Following the 2018 Law on National Defense and subsequent updates to military and defense legislation, the province has focused on building a comprehensive national defense posture. Current efforts include training self-defense forces at entities such as the Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company and ensuring 100% of annual military recruitment quotas are met. The province currently maintains 59,933 militia and self-defense members, representing 1.5% of the population.

Simultaneously, Quang Ninh province is shifting its security strategy toward a proactive model to address emerging threats. The Quang Ninh Public Security forces are focusing on preventing organized crime, transnational crime, and high-tech offenses. A key priority is addressing the increasing risks of cyber warfare and information security breaches. The province is moving from a reactive stance to one of strategic forecasting and deep analysis to maintain social order and political stability amidst growing economic and cultural activities.
