Vietnam advances agricultural restructuring and value chain models

Vietnam is seeing diverse approaches to agricultural restructuring aimed at increasing value and sustainability. In Bac Ninh province, authorities are shifting focus from traditional agricultural production to an agricultural economy. This strategy emphasizes ecological and circular farming, utilizing science, technology, and digital transformation to build standardized raw material areas for domestic and export markets.

In Lam Dong province, successful macadamia cultivation models demonstrate the benefits of farmer-led value chains. Local farmer Pham Van Hoi has transitioned from coffee to macadamia, eventually establishing a linkage model with other households. By standardizing cultivation techniques and fertilizer use, the group ensures consistent product quality. This collaborative approach has helped secure stable outputs, with macadamia products achieving 3-star OCOP certification.
