Vietnam pursues green development and international investment cooperation

Vietnam is focusing on proactive climate change adaptation and economic expansion through international cooperation. In Quang Ninh, authorities are shifting from reactive responses to proactive prevention to address risks such as extreme rainfall, flash floods, landslides, and rising sea levels. The province aims to combine environmental protection with green economic development, noting that the degradation of ecosystems like mangroves and river systems impacts natural resilience.

Simultaneously, Vietnam is seeking to attract high-quality capital from international partners. During an investment seminar in Vienna, Vietnam and Austria discussed expanding bilateral cooperation ahead of the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2027. Vietnamese officials highlighted the country's strong economic growth, noting an 8.18% GDP increase in the first half of 2026. Efforts are underway to develop international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, with a focus on fintech and green finance.
