Vietnam pushes digital transformation with BIDV support for SMEs and Ho Chi Minh smart neighborhoods
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) is providing free digital platforms, including BIDV Direct Shop and MyShop Pro, to small and medium‑size enterprises (SMEs) and household businesses in Hanoi. The programme also offers QR‑based payment devices, software fee subsidies, hardware discounts, and preferential credit lines—up to VND 500 million for households and VND 55 billion for SMEs—with rapid approval. These measures are part of a strategic partnership with Hanoi authorities to accelerate the city’s digital economy.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Cát Lái ward held a digital‑transformation day titled “Cát Lái InnoFest 2026,” launching a model of 24 smart neighbourhoods. Residents were introduced to e‑government services, digital signatures, cash‑less payments, AI‑driven applications, drones, 3D printing, and digital libraries. Officials highlighted the smart‑neighbourhood model as a foundation for building a digital government, society and citizenry at the local level.
