Vietnam pushes STEM and AI workforce development to meet strategic tech goals

Vietnam is accelerating the development of a high‑quality STEM workforce to support emerging strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and quantum computing. Officials say the country must shift from merely training human resources to building national capabilities, promoting STEM education from an early age and restructuring curricula to emphasise mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer science.

Universities are expanding modern laboratories, industry‑linked research centres and project‑based learning to give students hands‑on experience with advanced production technologies. The goal is to cultivate a generation that can master, improve and eventually create core technologies, strengthening Vietnam’s competitiveness and supporting its aim to become an industrialised nation by 2045.
