Vietnam Railways cuts short-haul ticket prices by up to 40%

Vietnam's railway sector has introduced significant ticket discounts of up to 40% on several short-haul segments of the North-South route to attract passengers during the post-summer low season.

From September 3 to September 6, 2026, specific discounts apply to the Vinh - Hanoi route on SE6 and SE8 trains. These include a 15% reduction for air-conditioned soft seats and a 40% reduction for various sleeper berths for passengers traveling between specific stations such as Vinh, Cho Sy, Phu Ly, and Hanoi.

Similar promotions are available for the Da Nang - Dieu Tri route on SE1, SE2, SE3, and SE4 trains, offering 15% off soft seats and 40% off sleeper berths. Additionally, the railway company is offering a 10% discount on return trips for individual passengers and up to 15% for return trips on SP2, SP4, and SP8 trains between Lao Cai and Hanoi. Group bookings of 20 or more people can receive discounts ranging from 3% to 9% depending on the group size.
