Vietnam reduces residential construction permit processing to 7 days
The Vietnamese government has introduced new measures to streamline administrative procedures within the construction and housing sectors under Resolution No. 66. 18/2026/NQ-CP. A key change is the reduction of processing times for individual residential construction permits, which will now be completed within 7 working days from the receipt of valid documentation. This is a significant decrease from the previous requirement of 15 working days.
Under the new regulations, general construction permit processing is set at 10 working days, while adjustments to existing permits will take 9 working days. Additionally, the government has abolished the requirement for notifying whether an entity is eligible to manage and operate apartment buildings. These reforms aim to provide citizens and businesses with greater predictability and reduced waiting times for project implementation.
