Vietnam reports student assault and fatal drowning incidents

Several tragic incidents involving youths have been reported in Vietnam. In Khanh Hoa province, police are investigating an assault on an 11th-grade student, P.T.P., who was knocked off his motorbike and repeatedly struck by a group of individuals. The victim sustained a fractured arm and required medical examination for head injuries at Khanh Hoa General Hospital.

In Vinh Long province, a 15-year-old student died following a drowning accident. The victim was part of a group of three 10th-grade students fishing and swimming in a pond. While attempting to get out of the water, one student slipped, pulling another under. Despite rescue efforts, the student was pronounced dead.

Separately, E Hospital reported a critical medical case involving a patient who arrived in deep coma and respiratory arrest following a drowning. Despite intensive resuscitation efforts, including the use of ECMO and consultations with leading specialists, the patient was eventually declared brain dead.
