Vietnam rescues victims from two separate boat accidents on July 9

On July 9, Vietnamese authorities responded to two distinct water‑craft incidents. In the coastal special zone of Vân Đồn, Quảng Ninh, a five‑person boat (HP‑4914) capsized near Bản Sen. Rescue teams retrieved the vessel's captain Vũ Thành Long and two companions, while two crew members, the Trương brothers, remain missing and search operations continue.

Later the same day, on the Lô River near the Việt Trì bridge in Phú Thọ province, a river boat (VP‑1782) was swept into a bridge pier by strong currents. Police water‑way units quickly freed the vessel and rescued both occupants, Nguyễn Văn Thực and Trần Xuân Hòa, without injuries. Authorities reported no damage to the bridge and warned of heightened flood risks for inland water traffic.
