Vietnam researches modern main battle tank manufacturing

Vietnam is researching the design and manufacture of modern main battle tanks to increase its technological autonomy and defense capabilities.

During a working session led by Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Minister of National Defence, various agencies discussed the direction for researching and manufacturing these tanks to meet the requirements of modern military training and combat readiness. The project aims to develop synchronized, modern tanks that integrate advanced technologies in power, control, electronics, and communications to enhance mobility and operational effectiveness.

Design efforts will focus on ensuring ease of use, maintenance, and repair within actual unit conditions, while balancing tactical and technical requirements with domestic manufacturing capabilities.
