Vietnam retirees urged to revise wills and drop three habits for peaceful aging
Lâm, a 66‑year‑old retired woman in Vietnam, receives a monthly pension of about 6,200 NDT (≈24 million VND). After a two‑month hospitalization for carotid artery sclerosis, she observed the devoted care of relatives and, feeling that presence mattered more than money, decided to change her will, shifting the inheritance she had planned for her distant daughter.
Retirement experts in Vietnam advise seniors to improve their quality of life by stopping three common behaviours: trying to please everyone at the expense of personal well‑being, dwelling on past regrets, and neglecting self‑care. They stress that setting boundaries, reducing chronic stress and focusing on positive habits can lower cortisol levels and protect heart and mental health in old age.
