Vietnam climbs to fourth‑most searched Asian destination by European travelers for summer 2026

According to Agoda data released on 6 August, Vietnam rose from fifth to fourth place among Asian destinations most searched by European tourists for the July‑August 2026 summer period. The ranking, based on accommodation searches from 1 April to 30 June 2026, places Thailand, Indonesia and Japan ahead of Vietnam, with Malaysia in fifth.

Vietnam recorded a 12 % year‑on‑year increase in search interest, ranking it among the top three Asian markets with the fastest growth from Europe. Germany generated the highest number of searches for Vietnamese lodging, overtaking France, while the United Kingdom remained third. Notable spikes also came from Azerbaijan (+177 %), Poland (+66 %) and Sweden (+55 %).

The report highlighted Da Nang and Nha Trang as the top beach‑related “golden coordinates,” underscoring the country’s 3,260 km coastline and its mix of urban, cultural and island experiences that attract European visitors seeking relief from a hot summer in Europe.
