Vietnam Rong Xanh Awards launched to promote digital culture
The Vietnam Rong Xanh Awards were launched in Hanoi to recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals who utilize science, technology, and digital transformation to enhance Vietnamese culture and heritage. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional values and modern innovation, fostering the growth of creative industries and smart tourism.
Organized by several bodies, including the Institute for Creativity and Digital Transformation and the National Authority of Digital Transformation, the awards operate under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The program seeks to promote the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, virtual reality, and augmented reality to digitize and recreate cultural assets for wider audiences.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Lan, Director of the Institute for Creativity and Digital Transformation, culture should be viewed as a resource for national soft power and local branding rather than just a set of values to be preserved. The awards cover six distinct categories, including heritage, destinations, cultural industries, innovation, and education.
