The Department of Science and Technology held a meeting to evaluate the disbursement of funds for science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation for 2026, while preparing budget estimates for 2027. As of October 24, 1,046.215 billion VND has been allocated, reaching approximately 95% of the 2026 estimate, with 364.343 billion VND (about 33%) successfully disbursed.

Various sectors reported challenges, including the Department of Agriculture and Environment, which has 399.416 billion VND remaining to be disbursed. Other departments noted technical difficulties regarding GIS database costs, specialized platform implementation, and data connectivity issues.

Separately, the 2nd Khue Van Cac Award Council for 2026 has selected 18 outstanding young scientist candidates across six social sciences and humanities disciplines. Out of 55 applications received, 48 were deemed valid, including 19 PhDs, 26 masters, and 3 bachelors.
